We’re launching our second study on the Heart Hive portal, looking at how the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting the health and wellbeing of people with cardiomyopathy. The findings of this study may help doctors to adapt healthcare services to better meet the needs of patients with cardiomyopathy in the future.

We’re looking for people with cardiomyopathy, aged over 18 to sign up and tell us about their experiences during the pandemic. If you’re interested to find out more, sign up (link) to the Heart Hive or log in (link) to your account.

We’re also looking for people who DO NOT have heart disease to become part of our comparison group - if you’re over 18 and have not been diagnosed with heart disease (you can still be eligible if you have high blood pressure or diabetes) and are interested please visit our website - https://www.thehearthive.org/healthy

Full information can be found in the Heart Hive portal where you’ll find the Participant Information Sheet. Taking part is entirely optional and participants can withdraw at any time.

With COVID-19 lockdown measures easing, our laboratory is open and we are now able to receive samples again.

For those who have received a saliva collection kit - please provide your saliva sample and return the kit when you are able to do so safely.

We'll also shortly be sending out sample collection kits to those who have yet to receive one.

We've made a decision to temporarily pause saliva collection.

The Heart Hive is still open for registration and the Heart Hive Cardiomyopathy Study is still recruiting new participants with DCM and HCM, based the UK. Health surveys are available to fill in now and we'll post out saliva kits when we resume collection.

Thanks very much
